St. Ambrose Catholic School (SAS) is a fully accredited Catholic school in the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese servicing children in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. St. Ambrose Church also offers an Infant-3 year old Early Childhood Program for members of St. Ambrose School and/or St. Ambrose registered parishioners.

The St. Ambrose Catholic School staff is comprised of dedicated degreed teachers and administrators, primary aides, office and cafeteria personnel, and a registered nurse. The goal of all SAS faculty and staff is the advancement, safety and well-being of each and every child.
Class sizes at St. Ambrose Catholic School are not only in compliance with the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department but of a smaller teacher-student ratio. Enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year is approximately 355 students, with 2 classes per grade level from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Enrichment classes are offered across the grade levels. Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade have Spanish, Music, and Computer Class once a week, Library Class twice a week, Physical Education Class three times a week, and Guidance class twice a month. Grades 4th & 5th have Art, Spanish, Computer, and Library Class once a week, Music twice a week, Physical Education three times a week, and Guidance class twice a month. Grades 6th through 8th have Spanish and Computer Class twice a week, Library Class once a week, Physical Education twice a week and Guidance Class twice a month.
All classes celebrate Mass together as a school family every Wednesday morning. St. Ambrose Catholic School students also say a Morning Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and The Learners Creed over the PA every morning. A weekly newsletter, the Hornet Happenings, is sent home every Tuesday as a communication tool for parents. Like all Archdiocesan schools, St. Ambrose Catholic School administers a standardized testing instrument in the spring.
